The Dutch Academy of Orthopaedic Medicine (Cyriax)® was the first Institute on the European continent that started training doctors and physiotherapists in Orthopaedic Medicine. Since 1979 more than 8000 physiotherapists were educated in the Netherlands to become an orthopaedical physiotherapist.
A therapy can only be successful if there is a correct diagnosis. Therefore, clinical reasoning is a keypoint in this post-graduate course.
Furthermore, a lot of time is scheduled in training novel treatments based on scientifical evidence.
Since 2020, orthopedic medicine courses are no longer given in the Netherlands.
